Winters in Chicago can be dark and cold, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have fun and support a good cause while doing so! On Thursday, January 18th the Junior League of Chicago (JLC) hosted its Gala Kickoff Party. The event was held at the Metropolitan Club on the 66th floor of Willis Tower, which boasts of incredible views of the Windy City.
The evening was a huge success and a wonderful way to drum up excitement for the 2018 Annual Gala, which will be held on February 24th. Guests at the kick-off event sipped libations and nibbled on light snacks while enjoying the upbeat music of a live DJ. Guests had the opportunity to buy tickets to the annual gala onsite. There was also an onsite raffle for attendees. Prizes for the raffle included, but were not limited to: a Publican Meats gift certificate and a one-night stay at the Drake Hotel the night of JLC’s annual gala. Hundreds of Junior League of Chicago members and friends of JLC attended the event. In fact, the event drew such a large crowd it was moved to a larger location to accommodate everyone who RSVPed for the Gala kick off.
This year’s JLC gala will be held at Chicago’s Drake Hotel. The evening will commence at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception, followed by a seated dinner. After dinner, there will be a silent auction and dancing with a live band. Black tie dress is encouraged. Gala is always a highly-anticipated signature event for the Junior League of Chicago and is a night you don’t want to miss!
For those who were not able to attend the kick-off event, or anyone who is still looking to obtain a ticket for Gala, tickets are available online. There are several ticketing options available and all proceeds from the gala support the JLC’s signature community programs, which assist at-risk women and children in the Chicago area.
